After a rather anti-climactic and mostly internet-blogger busted press conference by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Senior VP of software engineering, Craig Federighi, the new iPhoneS (yes, multiple) are getting mixed reviews from customers and competitors alike. Here’s what you need to know about both.
So to keep you all in the loop, here is our assessment of the new phones. Mono y mono. Apple vs Apple. The iPhone 5c vs the iPhone 5s:
iPhone 5c: The iPhone 5c is the new economically friendly version of the iPhone, rolling in at an easy 99$ (16gGB) with contract. It’s made of durable plastic and comes in 5 colors: yellow, pink, green, blue, white. Yay colors!

versus:
iPhone 5s: The new sleek, compatible and aluminum model to replace the iPhone 5 and 4s. It’s more expensive than the 5c but it’s got a lot of upgrades. You can shoot video in slow motion and take 10-picture-per-second camera bursts. It comes in Gold, Silver and Gray. The phone’s 64-bit architecture and the M7 motion coprocessor will know if you are sitting, standing, napping, etc. Careful! Your iPhone is watching...

It’s also got James Bond-like fingerprint scanning. The home button on the iPhone 5s will now be a fingerprint ID that scans your finger no matter how you place it on the phone to replace a passcode. The fingerprint passcodes will also be your access to the purchase of apps and media. Oh and the camera is better. But who couldn’t have guessed that…

But even with the exciting news of the two new phones, I’ve got to ask: Where’s the waterproofing? Where are the amazing new speakers? Where is the 3-D holographic movie playing?! From one apple lover to another, I was hoping for more. Don't you guys employ most of the geniuses in the world? I know you can read my finger but, similar to Siri, the awe-factor is going to be short lived and I’m probably going to get tired of using the finger scanner within the first week. The good news is, if you’re like me and are going to stick by your current iPhone model for a while, the iOS 7 will be available for download on September 18.
